Interesting publication: validating benzoic acid quantitation in fruit juices

0

Many Mnova users are very interested in quantitation, whether of pure, single compounds or mixtures. I thought I'd bring this paper to your attention in case you also find it interesting:

Garrido B. C., and Carvalho L. J. (2014)

Nuclear magnetic resonance using electronic referencing: method validation and evaluation of the measurement uncertainties for the quantification of benzoic acid in orange juice, Magn. Reson. Chem.,

DOI: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/mrc.4166/abstract

The authors look at effect of using electronic concentration references on concentration determination performance, and look at sources of uncertainty in the measurement. This is a nice, thorough validation for a method to measure components in foods - an important step before turning to your favourite software to automatically find the chemical "fingerprints" of components for analysis.
