It was a pleasure to be part of the activities at Nottingham University last week. On the first day the UK NMR Managers had their annual get-together, and on the second the RSC NMRDG hosted their meeting for young NMR scientists. The standard of work was excellent again, and presentations were amazing. Well done to all!
We were also treated to a talk from Dr Juan Aguilar-Malavia, who is a member of the team running the excellent NMR service at Durham University. With their ties to Prof Gareth Morris' lab they have been using Pure Shift NMR experiments to solve real, everyday problems that come their way. Craig Butts (Bristol University) commented that he has been doing the same, and has some experiments available for open-access users.
The wonderful exposure and development of this area is the legacy of Gareth and his group. Please note that the Manchester group makes available the pulse sequences, FID reconstruction software, and everything you need to perform these experiments: Look here for Agilent and Bruker code.
